Affordable Theological Training
Crosslands is committed to affordable and accessible theological training.
One benefit of our in-context learning model is that our students don’t need to stop working while they study. We have many students who study alongside their secular employment. Some work full time and study in the evenings and weekends, but most have reduced their hours to allow them to dedicate a day a week to study. Students employed by churches and mission agencies tend to be given time as part of the working week to study.
Our programmes are competitively priced, and we do not increase fees by default. We work hard to keep costs low in order to keep course fees as affordable as possible.
Students have the option to study our Crosslands Certificate for three years without incurring any accreditation fees. At the end of this, students who meet the entry criteria have the opportunity to participate in a fourth MA conversion year. Alternatively, students with an undergraduate degree can enrol on our Integrated MA in Christian Ministry from day one and spread the cost evenly over four years.
Most students pay their annual fees in two installments. However, we realise that it is more helpful for some to spread the cost over an extended period. For this reason, we are always happy to discuss a bespoke payment plan.
Around half of our students have their fees paid by their local church or mission agency. The rest pay their fees themselves or have received funding from other grants and trusts.
We are more than willing to help with grant applications or fundraising letters, and we have designed a fundraising pack for students who need some help raising support. Although we are currently unable to provide any bursaries, from time to time, we receive requests from individuals or churches who have money available and who would like to support the training of individuals. In these instances, we work hard to match the donor directly with students who would benefit from their generosity.
Unlike some training institutions who charge those from outside of the UK higher tuition fees, students eligible to participate in our Virtual Hub benefit from a small annual discount. We are committed to the training of those working in places in the world where theological training is prohibited or where the cost of travelling to our residentials would prevent them from studying with us.
