Originally from South Africa, she lives in Newcastle where her husband Hugo is pastor of Christ Church Newcastle. She is a trustee of Stewardship, and teaches on Christian leadership, organisational health and governance.

    Director of Theological Studies, Lecturer in Historical Theology and Spiritual Formation

    Tim is a founding faculty member of Crosslands and is based in Derbyshire where he is involved in Peak Trinity Church. He is author of over 30 books and commentaries including You Can Change, A Meal with Jesus, and Enjoying God. He leads on Doctrine and Pastoral Studies for Crosslands Seminary, and oversees the Crosslands Foundation, Basecamp and Lifelong curricula.

Prior to his involvement with Crosslands, he worked in Cambodia with OMF in rural church planting. Alongside his work with Crosslands he is Resources and Materials Developer for 2.19 Teach to Reach, a ministry which supports churches to use English teaching as a means of cross-cultural outreach. He is part of Christ Church Fulwood in Sheffield and has previously worked in international student ministry.

He went some 17 times to Myanmar (Burma) teaching expository preaching seminars and more recently to Madagascar where he helped in the training programme of the Bible Baptist churches in a remote town called Mandritsara.     Dr Paul Wells is emeritus professor of the Faculté Jean Calvin in Aix-en-Provence. He edited La Revue réformée and was a founding editor of the international journal Unio Cum Christo. After working in France as a theological educator for forty years (together with some experience of church planting), he returned to England in 2012 and now lives in Liverpool with his wife Alison. He has published several books in French, including a modern French translation of Calvin’s Institutes in 2009 and more recently a two-volume systematic theology; titles in English include studies on the doctrine of the cross, Scripture, and growth in Christ.

    Jonny is based in Oxfordshire where he lives with his wife and two young children. He works for Christians in Sport, helping elite and amateur sportspeople connect their sport and faith, as well as co-leading a church in his town. He has been on the Cultivate programme since January 2024 with a focus on sport. With sport being one of, if not the, leading past-time in our culture as well as a vocation for many elite athletes, it is essential the church is equipped to both pastor and reach sportspeople with gospel. Jonny is excited about looking into this more in the coming months and continuing to produce training and resources to help all involved in sport connect their passion with their faith.

    Hadden lives in Chelmsford, Essex. He is a freelance writer, essayist, and poet, writing on the themes of agrarianism and agriculture, nature, and occasionally on technology. On the Cultivate course his focus is on an evangelical understanding of environmental stewardship. This draws upon his experience in the nature conservation space and voluntary work he has undertaken alongside extensive reading and thinking on the subject.     Michael is based in the East Midlands. He runs UCCF’s Theology Network supporting and training undergraduate theologians across Britain to see the gospel deeply shape their studies. He joined the Cultivate programme in January 2024 and is focusing on sin, salvation and human flourishing in the Church Fathers. He’s excited for the potential that these early theologians bring for reviving the way we read the bible and seeing facets of the gospel which can connect with cultural questions of what it is to be human in new ways.

    Michael is based in the East Midlands where he is a university professor whose research interests lie at the interface between engineering and medicine, and his work falls somewhere between the theoretical and the practical. He is also a qualified professional (executive) coach, supporting individuals who work and lead in higher education. Michael is interested in leadership and strategy in knowledge-based organisations (which span those with educational, research and innovation missions). He is exploring where innately human concepts such as relationship, joy and love belong in such organisations, observing what happens when they are missing, considering how we might reintroduce them, and attempting to rediscover what biblical wisdom has to say on the matter.

He lives in Oxford and works with Friends International, a charity which partners with local churches to engage with evangelism and discipleship of international students. During cultivate he will focus on evangelism in the multicultural context, particularly wanting to look at how we can communicate the gospel in accessible and compelling ways to multiple cultures at the same time.

    Nabila lives in London and has worked as a tutor for several years, teaching Jurisprudence and International Law. She currently works at Christian Concern, and volunteers with the Centre for Bioethical Reform as a co-leader of the London team. Her Cultivate research will explore the relationship between theological anthropology and political theology in the Reformed tradition, and how it might apply in relation to contemporary social issues.
